In 2017, the event was renamed the Freddie Reekes Memorial Scholarship Golf Classic in memory of Freddie. Freddie's career was spent helping and mentoring young people through his work at Brunswick High School and Southside Virginia Community College. The funds raised from this event allow us to continue Freddie's legacy.

Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture Annual Meeting and Trade Show
The MAC-ISA Annual Meeting and Trade Show is a three-day event held in early October. The event location rotates every year allowing for members to participate from throughout the region. The Annual Meeting kicks off on Sunday with a Welcome Reception with exhibitors and silent auction to fund MAC-ISA student scholarships. The TREE Fund Golf Tournament and Motorcycle/Sports Car Ride for Research are also held on Sunday. The Annual Meeting continues on Monday with opening remarks, plenary session and includes a field day, educational sessions with many consecutive offerings.
